Financial Assistance & Insurance

As part of a caring community, Deerfield High School can provide some support for families with financial needs. Families that are interested in applying for the Free and Reduced Lunch application (FRAM) should check page two of the Free and Reduced Lunch application to see if they qualify (See the links below).

Students who might benefit from additional resources in the building should contact their counselor for more information about available supplemental resources.

Financial Assistance Areas of Coverage

The Free Books and Lunch Program includes the following resources:

Activity Ticket

Covers some Fine Arts and Athletic events. Does not include a yearbook (see below). See the Activities Director, Brian Verisario (ext. 3020, Room K115).

Athletic Event Tickets

Most events are covered on Activity Ticket. Show your student ID at the gate. Also included are the fan bus and a playoff ticket if applicable. See Athletics administrative assistant, Ms. Nagle (ext. 3114, Room K100).

Cafeteria Meals

Cafeteria, ID Barcode will not charge for FRAM-approved cafeteria items when scanned. See Mr. Posadas in the cafeteria.

Calculator (Graphing)

This covers the cost of one calculator. It does not cover lost or broken calculators or lost parts. See Beck’s representative in the bookstore.

College Application Fees

See Ms. Thurau in the CCRC (ext. 3060, Room I100).

Consumables

Covered. See Beck’s representative in the bookstore. Includes books, eBooks, course packet or lab, course materials, paperback novels, PE lock, heart rate strap and uniform.

Field Trips

Graduation Fee

Parking

Covered, Seniors only, and Juniors if spots are available. See Mr. Grubb (main office).

Physical Education

Covered. See Beck’s representative in the bookstore. Includes PE heart rate strap, PE lock and PE uniform.

Summer School

Covered up to 100%. See Mrs. Julie Freeney, Summer School administrative assistant.

Technology Fee

Includes Chromebook: Covers the $100 annual fee and repairs. See Beck’s representative in the bookstore.

Testing

ACT/SAT/PSAT, see Ms. Thurau in the CCRC (ext. 3060, I100). AP Tests, see Mr. Dan Chamberlin (Main Office)

Traffic Safety Course Fee

Covered (during the regular school year). Permit Fee of $20 is not covered (required by the State of Illinois). See PE administrative assistant, Ms. Nagle (ext. 3114, Room K100).
