Warrior Athletics Information

We are one single team of about 45 runners with a big all-together practice each day.  It doesn’t matter if you’re the fastest senior or slowest freshman, our goal is to help each individual improve and grow as a person through running. And yeah, we’re pretty good at the top too -- we won four Conference championships over the last seven years and placed third at State in 2025 -- but the magic really lies in the relationships, mentorship, character building, healthy habits, and the fun that the sport of cross country offers. The team is coached by former DHS cross country country runners who feel indebted to how the program shaped their own lives. We’re eager to add new runners to this special program! No tryouts, we welcome everyone.

The Beautiful Game comes to life at Deerfield High School when you join forces with other students and play soccer!  We are a non-cut program where everyone gets an opportunity to play and improve their skills.  Tryouts are used to determine the best starting place for each student-athlete, with the goal to find everyone the best place for competition and growth. Our coaching staff has many years of experience with high school soccer, and we are looking forward to a fun season!

If you enjoy performing and promoting school spirit, then cheerleading is for you! In the fall, the team performs at football games, the homecoming pep rally, and other school events.  All freshmen who try out will make the team.  No previous experience required!

Girls Field Hockey is a no-cut sport on the freshman level. All freshmen who come out will make a team.  We have three levels - JVB, JVA, and Varsity.

Come be a part of the proud tradition of Deerfield Warrior Football!  You will form lifelong relationships, build essential life skills, and compete daily.  Since 2015 the football program has:

• Seven IHSA 6A State Playoff Appearances
• Four CSL North Championships
• 6A Semi-Final Berth: 2019
• Seven CSL North Players of the Year
• Fifteen All-Area Athletes
• Five All-State Athletes

…and hundreds of athletes and families that have had a fulfilling, life changing experience.

Deerfield Girls Cross Country is a team of about 40 girls who are very welcoming and encouraging.  From the Midnight Mile to the Pancake Run and the Banana Relay, we incorporate fun ways to train and make friends.

We do not make cuts on Cross Country.  For everyone that joins we emphasize personal improvement.  No matter your experience or ability, we tailor workouts to suit each individual with the goal of getting better each week.

Every year new girls join cross country.  While that may start with a little fear of what they’re getting into, they walk away with tremendous pride in what they are able to accomplish.  I look forward to meeting you and going on that journey together.

Girls Golf  is welcoming and dedicated to teaching all aspects of golf. We are accepting of players of all levels of skill and incorporate a fun learning environment.

Although we welcome all golfers, there are limited opportunities to compete in competitions.  Our season consists of anywhere from 14-18 competitions and we can only have 12 players compete in matches.

Girls Swimming & Diving is a 14 week season that starts in August and ends with the IHSA State Meet in November for athletes who qualify.
We are a no cut sport with two levels, Varsity and Junior Varsity.
Our mission as a team is to create a safe, positive environment and build strong relationships where each athlete is able to perform to the best of their ability.
Technique will be a daily focus. We will be doing a mix of aerobic yardage, speed and power, drills, technique, and will have a strong focus on proper dryland and weight training, plus nutrition and mindset.

Since 2010, the girls program has grown and been very successful:

6 Top 10 State finishes (5 Top 5 finishes) 
3rd place in state 2023
Four Sectional Championships
Five CSL North titles
Expanded the girls program from 2 to 3 teams in 2014 (since inception, over 250 additional girls have played DHS team tennis)
