Welcome to the Counseling Department
at Deerfield High School!

Our dedicated team is here to support you throughout your high school journey, offering guidance in academic planning, personal development, and postsecondary exploration.

We encourage you to explore the resources available on our pages:

  • Meet Our Staff: Get to know our counseling professionals and find their contact information.

  • Course Registration for SY 2025-2026: Access important details and deadlines for course selection for the upcoming school year.

  • Social-Emotional Support: Find information on services available to support your well-being and personal growth.

Our goal is to ensure you have the tools and support necessary to thrive during your time at Deerfield High School. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our counseling staff.

In partnership with parents/guardians, educators, and community stakeholders, the Deerfield High School Counseling Department implements a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes student achievement and personal wellness.

School counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective. School counselors do not work in isolation; rather, they are integral to the total education program. School counselors help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and college/career development. Students work with the same counselor throughout their high school career. Students can access their school counselor's calendar through the student's Counselor folder in Schoology. Students can utilize their free periods, off-labs, and passing periods to schedule a meeting.

In addition, students have access to school social workers and postsecondary counselors. Diagnostic and supportive services are available to students with special needs. Information on college admissions testing, financial aid, and post high school planning is available in the College and Career Resource Center (CCRC).
