Each year the Golden Apple Foundation selects ten outstanding teachers to be recipients of the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. This year high school teachers are going to be awarded. Nominees will be accepted until Dec. 31, 2012. Click here to nominate someone from Deerfield High School!

Since 1985, the Foundation has honored 280 Pre-K-12th grade teachers from Chicago and the surrounding year. In addition to being featured in an hour-long television special, recipients receive $3,000, and a Spring quarter sabbatical to study tuition-free at Northwestern University.

Administrators, teachers, counselors, parents and students are invited to nominate outstanding teachers currently teaching in high school full time at a public or non-public school.
